Hard Rock Hotel & Casino became the first state-licensed casino in Virginia when the Lottery Board awarded an operators license on April 27, 2022. Caesars Virginia is a partnership with the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. The permanent casino will open in late 2024.
The casino in Portsmouth will open in early 2023.Ĭaesars Virginia opened an interim casino on May 15, 2023. The casinos in Bristol, Danville and Norfolk will each open in 2024.
Virginia is currently building state-licensed casinos in four cities.
